Accessing Mouseflow's API through Lynx, Wget or cURL

Follow

When accessing the Mouseflow API through Lynx, Wget or cURL or other command-line tools, it's important to remember enclosing the Mouseflow URL in quotes. Otherwise these programs will see the ampersands (&) in the URL as indicative of a separate command.

A typical Mouseflow API URL could look like this:

http:/b.mouseflow.com/api/getwebsites?email=my@email.com&token=F8V6389G19DV210

In e.g. Wget, a command such as...

wget http:/b.mouseflow.com/api/getwebsites?email=my@email.com&token=F8V6389G19DV210

...would result in Wget trying to run these commands simultaneously:

wget http:/b.mouseflow.com/api/getwebsites?email=my@email.com
token=F8V6389G19DV210

The response from the API would simply be a error message saying "Email / token invalid". As mentioned, enclosing the URL in quotes gets you around this problem. The proper call should look like this:

wget "http:/b.mouseflow.com/api/getwebsites?email=my@email.com&token=F8V6389G19DV210"
