Playback Window Breaks Out of Frame

Follow

Sometimes during playback, the recording seems to ‘break out’ of the playback frame. The page is shown without the player controls and nothing happens. This is most likely due to your page having a frame break script, which causes the page to break out of any parent frame.

Since Mouseflow uses an iFrame to display the playback page, the script essentially ‘breaks’ the iFrame. To resolve this, you simply disable the frame break script when you’re watching a playback session.

Your script may look like this:

<script type="text/javascript">
if (top.location != location) top.location.href = location.href;
</script>

To disable the script:

<script type="text/javascript">
if (document.location.hostname.indexOf('.mouseflow.com') === -1) {
if (top.location != location) top.location.href = location.href;
}
</script>

This will only disable the script if it’s attempting to run in the Mouseflow iFrame.
