Funnel Analytics


Mouseflow's Funnel Analytics is the perfect tool if you want to know more about how your visitors navigate on your site. Using this feature, you can see where your visitors stop, hesitate, and convert.

The Funnel Analytics data is updated on-the-fly, so there is no need to wait before a report is ready. You can simply create a funnel with the steps you want to track and start analyzing right away - even back in time.


You can filter the funnels exactly like you can filter the recording and heatmap list. It's as simple as opening the filter drawer or date range picker. Then you can sort the funnel data for users with a certain browser, country, variable/tag and much much more.

Get started

To start using Funnel Analytics, simply navigate to the 'Funnel'-section in your Mouseflow account. Here you will find the option to create your first funnel.

Setting up a funnel is as easy as defining the steps you want to track: simply pick the pages in the flow you want to analyze. It's can be as many or as few pages as you want. For more details on this, see the article: Setting up a Funnel

A typical use case would be:

Landing Page > Sign-up Form > Success Page

If you already have recordings from these pages, your work is done. The funnel will be automatically generated from the data that's already in your account.

Analyzing the funnel

When you've created a funnel, you have easy access to a number of statistics and analytical data for the entire funnel and for each step in it:



  • Visits
    This tells you exactly how many visitors entered your funnel.

  • Conversion rate
    This tells you exactly how many visitors completed the funnel (converted).
  • Edit funnel
    This gives you the option to edit the form. At any time, you can add or remove steps, or rearrange the existing steps.


  • Visits

    This tells you exactly how many visitors made it to this step of the funnel. You can see the exact number as well as the percentage (of all visitors).

  • Dropped 
    This tells you exactly how many visitors dropped of at this step. You can see the exact number as well as the percentage (of visitors to this step).
  • Watch dropped/converted
    This takes you to a filter recording list, showing the recorded sessions of all visitors who dropped off at this step (or converted). 

How does the funnel work?

Our Funnel Analytics goes through all data gathered on your account and detects all visitors who've entered the funnel you specified. You should note that the order a visitor goes through the steps of the funnel doesn't matter: It can be 'Page 1 > Page 2 > Page 3 > Page 4' or 'Page 4 > Page 2 > Page 3 > Page 1' - both count as a conversion.

If at least one of the pages in the funnels is not visited, the visitor is counted as dropped at the first page that is NOT visited. This means that 'Page 1 > Page 2 > Page 4' is dropped at "Page 2", and 'Page 4 > Page 1 > Page 3' is dropped at Page 1, and that 'Page 2 > Page 3 > Page 4' never made it to the funnel.

Funnels are available on all accounts, but with some limitations. On the Free and Small plan, you can create one funnel. On the Medium plan, you can create 10 funnels. On any larger plan you can create 100 funnels.
